Booking
Booking with me is meant to be simple and stress-free, but there are a few things to know up front. My goal is always to give your dog the safest, happiest stay possible while being clear about how reservations work. Availability can shift quickly, especially around holidays, so planning ahead helps a lot.
I offer mostly private or very small group boarding, with clear options for Meet & Greets, holiday/peak pricing, and private care when needed. The details below cover how I handle availability, meetups before a stay, high-demand times, and special care requests so you know exactly what to expect when booking.
Availability
We do our best to keep things simple, safe, and flexible for you and your dog. Here’s how booking works when it comes to availability:
Private and Small Group Boarding
Most stays are private or with very small groups. On occasion dogs stays overlap, and it’s common to be less than a day or two. Group boarding is only booked if:
- All dogs are already met or stayed with me before.
- The dogs are naturally good with others and have shown they’re well-mannered.
- They listen to basic commands and respond well to me.
- The dog’s parents are okay with small group boarding or overlapping stays.
Fast-Changing Availability
- My calendar can fill quickly, especially around holidays and long weekends. I try to accommodate, but reservations are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Planning Ahead vs Waiting
- We understand some families want to finalize plans or schedule a meet & greet before booking. That’s totally fine, but please know that while you wait, another client may request and confirm the spot. This is less of an issue if you and your dog are comfortable with group stays.
Meet and Greet
We love meeting new pups (and their people) before a stay. A Meet & Greet is a chance for us to connect, make sure your dog feels comfortable, and answer any questions you might have.
When & Where
- Most Meet & Greets happen right in front of my house. Depending on any current stays, we may also step inside so you can see where your dog will be staying.
Before a Longer Trip
- If you’re planning an extended stay, it’s common (and encouraged) to book a night or two ahead of the big trip. This gives your dog a chance to settle in and feel at home.
Other Meeting Locations
- I’m happy to meet at a different location other than my home if that’s easier for you, but these requests do require a confirmed booking.
Always Welcome
- Whether it’s your first time booking or you just want your dog to get a quick hello in, Meet & Greets are always welcome and encouraged.
Holiday & High Demand Policy
Some days of the year are busier than others—holidays, long weekends, and peak travel times. To keep things fair and clear:
Holiday & Peak Rates
- Certain dates are charged at a higher rate. These dates are marked on the booking calendar so you’ll know up front.
- If your stay includes both holiday and non-holiday days, you’ll see a mix of rates—each day is charged appropriately.
Group vs. Private Boarding
- Holidays often mean more dogs are staying with us. Group boarding is common during these times.
- If your dog needs private boarding or extra-special care during a holiday stay, please reach out before booking. Private stays during high demand periods will be priced higher, since they prevent us from booking other guests.
Booking Early & Availability Changes
- Holiday spots go fast, so we encourage booking as early as possible.
- All holiday reservations will be fully confirmed at least 60 days in advance.
- In rare cases, we may need to cancel holiday bookings with 60+ days’ notice if something unavoidable comes up. We’ll always give you as much advance notice as possible.
Special Care and Private Care
Every dog (and family) has different needs, and we’re here to support them.
When It’s Needed
- Some dogs do best with no other pets around—whether for medical reasons, behavior, or simple comfort. In those cases, Special Care & Private Boarding may be required.
Owner Preference
- Even if it isn’t strictly necessary, some families prefer a private stay. We’re happy to accommodate whenever availability allows.
How It Works
- Private single-dog boarding is offered at a higher Special Care rate, since it restricts us from hosting other pets during your dog’s stay.
- While I’ve always leaned toward one dog at a time, the reality is that overlapping requests happen. Most of my clients are perfectly comfortable with small group stays (1–2 other dogs, often for less than a day or two).
- If you want or require a private stay, just let us know—we’ll do our best to make it happen.
Payments
- Payments can be made on all common peer-to-peer payment apps like Venmo, Apple Pay, Cash App, and Zelle.
Advance Payment Required
- Full Payment is due in advance of a stay and is required to confirm a booking.
Payment Methods Apps and Cash
- Payments can be made on all common peer-to-peer payment apps like Venmo, Apple Pay, Cash App, and Zelle.
- Cash payments can be arraigned, but are to be paid no later than than the drop off of your dog.
Cancellation
- Cancellations with a full refund are available to all customers up to 72 hours before your booking.
- After 72 hours, will will refund a prorated amount based on the cancellation time and stay time. Same day cancellation will provide a refund of the total stay price minus the cost of 3 days. If the stay is 3 days or less, there would be no refund for a same day cancellation.
